:o Hey all, I wanna ask where is the best places to shop in thailand, I have been to a few stores, and most seem over crowded which make shopping not fun cause of all the pushing, shoving, (those are just mainly not thai people, but a mix of people, including myself i might add, lol) someone here must know a good stop for shopping for just about anyhting that is not very crowded and has a nice selection of items of various things,

Now i know (by reading these posts) some people always like to quote that they are rich, i dont see as to why they would want to do that, plus in some the write where they live as well, which is not a good idea cause if i was a bad person, i would go to their soi and wait for them and take their money, (but i am not a bad person lol)

Back to the original question, Most stores in thailand are huge compared to USA which are like only 2 floors and very small,

1'stly I hope i have not offended anyone in anyway, it was not my intention to do so, please reply if you can.

over crowded ?? Not if you shop at the right time....

I am always at the shop for when they open, regardles what shopping I am doing.... = car park is empty can park where I like = no one in said stores = no one at the cash till in front of you = can see, buy all you need and be home for lunch.

Gaysorn Plaza is THE store if you want to be alone. It is opposite Central World.

Otherwise: go shopping soon after opening. It's still okay.

They have shops at Gaysorn? I've never seen people inside those places - I thought it was some kind of boring exhibition centre that no one went to. :D

It's a great short cut from the BTS to Central World though. :o

Seacon Square on Srinakarin Road is a great place to shop. It's just like the stores in central bangkok but with fewer people. It would probably cost you 150-200 baht in a taxi but worth it is you want to avoid the crowds.

+1. Good computer shops too.

But yes, the taxi ride. Not near BTS or MRT.

If you are looking for high Class import stuff, definitely Paragon. A good mix, but still rather expensive, next to Paragon is Central World. For low price (but not necessarily low quality) stuff, try "The Mall" in Bang Kapi.

As others said before, try to be there at 10:30 or 11 AM, before the crowd comes and avoid week-ends.

Agree.

This goes for almost all the shopping malls.

In the morning, most of the regular shoppers are either working themselves, or still at the university, or not out of bed yet.

What do you want to buy and where do you live. Yes, I agree that some shopping malls can be mad-houses...expecially on week-ends. However, I noticed that Thais don't seem to go shopping early in the morning so most malls and hypermarkets are not crowded till the early afternoon. Also, avoid weekends if at all possible.
