Good Offshore Banking In Singapore

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I'm seriously fed up with HSBC in IOM and with recent change to EUSD (terms of service) I'm looking to move funds and savings to Singapore. It does not appear to be a 'real' offshore bank sort of speak as British hands are deep in their pockets.

We'll be moving to Thailand next year so it's time for planning.

Some things to consider:

- Selection of unit trusts (mutual funds)

- Customer Service and Financial Advise Quality

- Possible mortgage in Thailand options

- Currency Pairs / Rates on savings

- Premier banking options

- Fees

If you've dealt with any banks in Singapore and have good or bad things things to say I would appreciate your input. I'm currently looking at DBS/UOB/Standard but not sure with whom I want to establish a relationship.

Thanks for your help on this.

There is another thread about this above. I use DBS but work in Singapore - I have no complaints.

Another guy who is offshore with them also praises them in the thread above.

If you're moving to Thailand next year then you'll no longer be a resident of a EU country and EUSD wil not be applicable.

Thanks for that guys. However, with the current situation I might still fall into the EUSD and going forward I don't want to risk paying 30% tax. I'll look more at DBS for now.
