Stuck In Kuala Lumpur?!

Featured Replies

Hi, we are 2 travellers searching for any information we can get -

We are from the UK with single entry - Category TR - Tourist Visa. We first entered Thailand on the 24th Oct, - we went to Singapore afer 30 days (1 entry) got a stamp at the airport for another 30 days in Thailand - and now we are in Kuala Lumpur where we came to get another Tourist Visa from the Embassy here.

This morning the Embassy CLOSED for visa applications at 10am after we'd been there for 10 mins.... and our flight for thailand leaves tomorrow -

What we need to know is can we actually get back into Thaland tomorrow? Do we get a stamp at the airport, or do we need that new Visa? Can we get a quick extension on the current visas if we go back to the Embassy tomorrow?

Any advice would be great!

Thanks

You can again get a visa-exempt entry for 30 days. You are allowed to stay in Thailand on visa-exempt entries for a total of 90 days within sic months, so this second visa-exempt entry will bring you to 60 days on visa-exempt stay if you stay the full 30 days.

Upon arrival in Thailand, immigration has the right to ask you for evidence of confirmed onward travel out of Thailand within 30 days but does not always ask for this.

The airline has the right to refuse you boarding in Kuala Lumpur if you have no visa and no confirmed onward travel out of Thailand within 30 days from your arrival.

Not an extension on the current visa, but you can try and ask if for an “express fee” you can get a new tourist visa the same day, in time to catch your flight back to Thailand. I have read posts about this having been possible in Penang but do not know about Kuala Lumpur.
