I am travelling to the UK for the Christmas / New Year period, over the time my parents will celebrate 50 years of marriage.

I want to buy them something fitting for the occasion but am stuck, can you guys put your suggestions forward?

preferably Thai-related and physically not too big as it needs to travel with me.

thank you in anticipation of your wonderfully inventive and original suggestions. :o

Something gold would be appropriate.

A trip to one of the gold shops and jewellers should give you some ideas. It would fit most of you needs depending on the budget. Necklace and earrings for mum, and a gold chain for dad. You can point out that the gold is more pure than what they are offered in most shops in England.

There are some smallish dangley things that go on necklaces that have the King on them, that would also fit the bill.

Have a good trip and drop by the shop and visit some time.

How about an object of jade, good quality, dark green jade (Imperial green)?

If it's top quality jade Buddha , it's (probably) small and fits in your luggage.

If you are in Chiang Mai, there is a shop right at the entrance to the Doi Suthep Wat, they have good quality jade, genuine. I have never found a shop in Bangkok, but I am sure there is.
