this will get oh so interesting......

If they enforce the rules impartially and promptly, they could set Thailand back on the road to democracy. If they are arbitrary, biased or dilatory, they may doom it to more years of instability—especially if they leave the impression that the people have voted for Thaksinism, only to have their will subverted.

I don't think it's like Pakistan at all.

It's a lot more like Nepal, and possibly Burma though Nepal is a much closer match when you look at how things are organized, and what happened.

I think I smell TROLL.

Thailand does not easily compare to any of the aforementioned countries.

Pakistan is a festering pool of extremists and moderates heading for serious trouble.Pakistan is all about Islam and being offended.

Burma is just plain thuggery. Sad and stuck

Nepal is recovering from a bizarre Hindu Monarchy and has almost no economy to consider. Their main exports are Buffalo meat, rocks and rock related items. However Nepal has a much better future ahead.

Thailand is the land of snap decisions; whatever is good for today is the way we will go. Tomorrow we might turn around and go the other way. Just give us someone to follow and we will, until we find another guy of course. The only thing holding this place together is their affection for the monarchy
