How Well Do They Hold Their Price?

I'm considering selling my laptop and maybe upgrading

to a newer make and different model.

I bought my COMPAQ PRESARIO 2545ap just under a year

ago, and was wondering how much I would get for it.

It was shipped from Singapore with a 1 year national (thai) warranty.

The OS is windows XP home.

Can anyone advise?

Thankyou

This would be a complete guesstimate, but after churning through several laptops I would imagine that you lose 50-60% of the value of the unit within the first 12 months.

Do a search on ebay and see what people are selling theirs for.

Someone else correct me if I'm wrong, but laptops don't hold their value so far as I can see. Too many stronger factors influencing their value - speed of newer models coming onto the market, technological improvements, oversupply, etc

just my 2 bahts worth...

I have the problem too of what to do with old hardware... I found that giving it to some needy people or to a Boyfriend or Girlfriend will give you much more joy than what you can get out of and old system.

Also if you go to Pantip you can ask them what they will pay for it. then you have a low ball price work with......

I gave an old P600 laptop so a friend and now I have a place to say anytime I need. Nice warm bed... funny how things just seem to work out.
