Do Thai Politcal Parties Have A Plateform Or Agenda

Featured Replies

do Thai Politcal parties have a platform or agenda outlining what they would try to accomplish or try to if elected to differentiate themselves from other Parties.

I've never seen any.

Are they all just SAME-SAME

I have just been trying to research this. Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_political_parties_in_Thailand) and The Nation (http://www.nationmultimedia.com/specials/ourvote2007/) were good places to start. Looks like they all do have an agenda and they would appear to be pretty much the same agenda. They all seem to be centre, nationalist parties.

In conclusion I would have to say “same, same” but hopefully other posters will be able to enlighten us further.

The parties do have platforms of sorts. For example, the Democrat Party promises free electricity to all. I hope that means that they'll pick up the tab for my monthly electric bill.

In the special mix of enhanced policies, it will strive to achieve a four-fold increase in revenue from tourism. Tourist arrivals should rise from 11 million per year to 45 million with a projected annual revenue of Bt1.5 trillion to fill government coffers.

If elected to lead the next government, the PPP plans for a 100 per cent conversion from petrol to biofuels such as gasohol, including raising the percentage of ethanol to 20%.
