Emule With Loxinfo

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

It's been maybe 4 or 5 days that the downloads with Emule are particularly slow. Before I could get a total of 25 or 30 KBytes/sec when P2P was open (at night and during week-ends), but now it's only 2 or 3 KB/sec. I don't have a lowid and the ports are not blocked, it's just very slow. Anyone using Loxinfo (I'm in Bangkok) noticed the same thing? I called them and they said they didn't change anything. I suspect maybe they got a new software to slow down downloads and spare bandwidth...

Thanks for your answers!

YES!

I have noticed that the download speeds from Loxinfo have dropped considerably the last few days.

I am considering changing to True (basically because they are 1/2 price compared with Loxinfo) although I have used Loxinfo for the 7 years I have been here.

Do you use obfuscated connections?

You need to select Enable Protocol Obfuscation in Options/Security.

Thanks for the tip yeti! Maybe it did the trick, I have faster downloads now, but it's still not as it was before. I had to upgrade my version of Emule to activate this obfuscation protocol, so now I also have to check all the settings. For instance I noticed a problem with Kad, I can't search for a file anymore. Not sure where the problem comes from.

You can search in Kad after few minutes connected to it, not instantly, and you can search only with words of more than 4 characters.

And with eMule, you should always use the latest official version.

Slightly off topic and sorry if I’m being impolite but seeing this post saves me from starting another thread.

I’ve been searching for some old movies with Torrents but have come up empty handed.

Does eMule have obscure movies available? Does it have movies at all? I have downloaded the eMule setup but thought I would wait for some feed back before actually installing and using it.

Hope my question does not go against forum rules but the movies I’m after are VERY VERY old and would no longer be copyright or whatever the term is. :o

Thanks

If you are after old or obscure movies, rare songs or things like that eMule will be your best bet. It's slower than torrents but the choice is a lot wider.

Alternatively there are torrents tracker who specialize in obscure movies, u'll need to register (free) for those (and you will need to find them of course).

Ok sounds like eMule is worth a try. I have been using torrent searches but in the end they all seem to come up with the same results.

I have kept away from the ones where you have to register as they seem to specialize in porn and don’t want to get lost down that road. (I have nothing against porn, really, but don’t want to plough through a sh*t load of the stuff when I’m looking for something else.

Erm! Could you point me in the direction of some of these trackers that specialize in obscure movies?

Just had a thought, these “obscure” I’m looking for movies are just regular old action/adventure movies nothing sinister.

Well you have Public Domain Torrents, but I don't think it is very fast.

Otherwise u can try Torrent Harvester or Bit Che to search amongst many trackers. And use Google.

And if that's not enough, eMule.
