I have to return to the UK at the end of March for 3 months due to the necesity to visit hospital for an operation. Now, given the uncertainty there has been with visas from other western countries I want to reapply for my visa at the first oportunity i.e. as soon as reasonably possible when I land. My last visa doesn't run out till the end of May now will they allow me to renew it before my last one expires and does anyone know about the start date.I mean would it not start till the previous one ran out or would it have 12 months from the date of issue to start using it (as I expect)?

A new visa can be issued any time - but it will start from the day of issue.

I recently got my non imm O and stated day of traveling was Jan 20th but when I got my passport back the visa start date was dated from the day I applied for it.

My point was that I've heard that the days of Hull giving visas out like flyers are going to come to an end (soon) as they have in other countries and wanted a stamp in my passport just to make sure I got one.
