:D Hello everybody,

first of all i hope you all apologize the horrible grammar ans misspelling in my post. But i am a german, which i hope excuses a lot already, and i am then of course not a native english speaker.

I just want to post my experiences with the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. One week ago my son, David, was born in the hospital mentioned in the topic title. Because i have surfed around in this forum i have read of course all the different posts concerning this item.

So i want to let you participate what happened there regarding my own situation.

I was not myself in Thailand when my son was born and i let my girlfriend deal with the hospital completely. I think after all that was the right decision. When is was down there in Thailand i just visit the doctor over there twice during regular check-ups of my girlfriend.

I dind't ask for delivery packages or anything like this. The first regular chek-up was because before she just went to one of that plenty clinics in Pattaya. As a foreigner i find this clinics quite discusting actually, so i told her to go to the Bangkok Pattaya with me. We checked in and she had an ultra sound, blood test, sugar test and some other things.

Fee for this, 5000 Baht.

She got new regular appointments when i was already gone, they charged 2500 Baht for the further ones.

On 15th december my son, David, 3460 gramm and 50 cm was delivered by a cesarean section.

She stayed 4 days in a hospital, including pictures for me, vaccacination for my son and so on...total cost....50,000 Baht!

Very good i think, due to the fact that some have been charged 120,000 baht.

The service was excelllent and the doctor emailed me home after every visit she had and answered all questions.

So, it seems that they just like to rip off foreigners which do not want to let their girlfriends deal with this. Personal opinion of course.

My girlfriend asked at the last day in hospital to fax her a copy of my passport, and the hospital took care of the birth certificate.

My son now has an international name, David, and my german last name. Everything went well with out complications.

So far so good, no newbie post without some questions. :D

How aboput a health isnurance for my son? Do somebody have a good advice?

I googled AIA, BUPA and the thai outsource of the german allianz insurance. Does anybody have recommendations or ideas about annual fees?

Would be nice to get some answers.

The other questions is more tricky, you know the father is always unsecure, so any recommendations as well on serious DNA tests?

My girlfriend have the smile of an angel, sure, but the body of a devil. :o

So, waiting for some answers, and thx in avance already.

Cheers,

Sascha

Hi Daedalus/ Sascha,

Many congratulations to you and your girlfriend. Some people believe that having kids is the only really worthwhile thing any of us can do in our lives. All the other things like wealth, fame, career success etc. pale into insignificance compared to the joys of parenthood. I hope he brings you great love and pleasure.

Happy days!!

Regarding DNA testing. Why? He looks Farang and you are his father. Why worry? Enjoy.

By the way, Your written english is excellent, better than some native speakers on these forums.

Congratulations & welcome to the forum.

For insurance have a look at our insurance section as posters there will probably have much better information to give you & our health section will probably be the place for recommendations for DNA testing :o

With the 10 uplift which is common for caesarian, the vaginal birth package would come in at 40k from this place which is quite high in itself.

Did you ever get a quote beforehand ? I seem to remember they were always adding various things on or saying they were not covered.

If yuo were in 4 days, then that is 1 day over normal so you would have to deduct 1 day's room, board and medical charges to find the true package.

Congratulations with your new arrival and best of luck to all three of you.
