Something To Cheer You Up On New Years Eve

Featured Replies

im a little bah humbug at the whole christmas thing whilst over here, and new years eve is always a bit of a let down unless you have a bloke to pash, but the below email i received from a girlfriend did make me forget about my humbug status for a little bit:

This is should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it everyday. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.

yes, thats true. at least 2.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

yep, that would be true.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

theres a lot of people who want to be just like me!

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

how bout a snarl?

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

WHO, i ask you. WHO????

6. You mean the world to someone.

ditto the above.

7. You are special and unique.

thanks.

Thanks Donna babe, the strange thing is that since being incredibly ill... I really appreciate all the stuff life brings and enjoy almost everything so I can understand the list you posted and it's beautiful.

I am sad in a way that it took nearly dying to put me in this frame of mind but I feel amazing and would love to share it with everyone... let there be love, light, respect, happiness, flowers and goodwill to our fellow men and women in the new year.

Even those who do wrong deserve a chance at rehabilitation and forgiveness... and I am not a religious nut, it's just natural :o

Agreed! :D Thanks girls for those uplifting words! Your comments underneath made me laugh Donna! :D Happy New Year to you all!

To love and beloved today and everyday from now on.

:o

Yes, what a lovely thread. Happy New Year to you all.

I understand what Seonai is saying also. I have not been incredibly ill, but I have been very stressed out and uncertain about my future. It finally occurred to me that the future is now, and you have to make the best of life regardless of where you are, day by day. You can lose a lot of thinks in life, but as long as you have life itself, no one can take away the joy of living and reveling in the things that make you and others feel alive: love, sensuality, and giving.

*And wonderment!

Group hug all you babes out there :o

Not in any way meaning to undermine all the best men out there

But women are sooooooo cool, I don't know what I would be without all the fabulous women I have met/encountered (here too) in my life

We are strong, enduring, anti war, beautiful, oh tell me to shut up now... 3 glasses of New Year wine... but I do mean it all...

you are right Kat. the future IS now. we just have to learn to let go of the past and enjoy today for what it is. say yes to opportunities and grab them with both hands and give things your best shot.

i, too, have had a year or so of shit here. and just when i was thinking of moving back to australia, a job opportunity has come up for me in bali, so thats where im off to, and im packing my stuff up as i write this. i have wanted to live there since i was 18 years old and finally i get the chance. things have been so timely that im sure its the universe telling me that 'my' time is here.

fate stepped in for me and im sure it will for everyone else. we just have to be patient at times.

next thing on the list is to meet a decent bloke!

funny thing is that all the fortune tellers i have been to here tell me that when im 43 everything will be perfect for me. well, i turn 43 in two weeks, and its looking pretty dam_n good so far.

happy new year girlies. this years gonna rock for us. ALL of us.

Your New Year wine sounds cute, Seonai. I have a New Year sore throat, but that's another matter.

Donna, your energy jumps off the screen when you talk about your move and I think Bali will be really good for you. It is powerful to take control of a situation and change whatever is not working for you. It's also good to stay open and trust your gut.

You are right Donna, 2008 is going to rock!

Go girls!!! Kat I hope your sitch is good now and will continue to get better and better and better - you sure deserve it :o

Donna - enjoy and prosper... and see you on MSN for the gossip :D

You too Khall - I hope to see you this year once you are over the culture shock of returning home to the land of Oz
