I really need tips as my best friend and I are arriving really soon (20th of January). We have booked already our flight from Bangkok to Samui arriving late at night. We are looking for an a nice hotel room near the beach in Chaweng area, some option are Montien house, Chaweng resort or Tango Beach resort...the all point of us going to Koh Samui was first to head to the full moon party on the 22nd but we still want to have a nice stay in Samui.

then we want to go to either Phuket or Krabi, once again any suggestion welcome as we both do not know the area at all!!!

I would reccomend Chaweng Gardens Resort - right on the beach and around 1000 baht per night. Or the Ark Bar (also on the beach) where you will find alot of people also going to the Full Moon Party. They are a bit more expensive.

By the way, is there any boat going back at night from the full moon party?

I'm sorry - I have never been to the full moon party. Perhaps someone else can help you.
