Today, walking my Chihuahuas in a big park, we came across a group of 5 Dogs, 2 Terriers, one a Cairn, the other I don't know, 2 large Spinones and a Very large Russian Wolf Hound.

None of them were on leads, Leo the Male wasn't either, but Sadie the tiny one was.

All seemed OK as my Dad knew them and Leo and the two Terriers started a little sparring, however very suddenly all five went for Sadie, I quickly raced about twenty paces away but fell when I got tangled amongst the lead, fern and icy ground as the Hounds homed in, I gathered Sadie into my arms, whilst sat on the ground as the larger dogs went for her.

I was able to cover her suitably, but the Terriers were coming from underneath, I couldn't cover all angles and couldn't really move.

Leo, charged head on and stood his ground and fought off both Terriers, directly in front of me, whilst adults were able to get hold of the larger dogs and get them away.

How Leo was able to do this is beyond me, but how I look on him in a different light, I know Sadie is his girl and he is waiting patiently for his time, but it was still very brave against two larger Terriers and considering the size of the other dogs in close proximity.

So well done Leo.

I just wanted to share that with you.

Wow Moss, what a scary experience! And how lucky you didn't got bitten!

One big hooray for Leo. What a dog! Can imagine how proud you are. he really showed that one shouldn't mess with a Chi. Small in size but huge in heart. :o

A big kiss and delicious treat for Leo AND for Sadie, as she must have been very scared. Poor dog!

Not so bad for me, but Sadie was terrified.

And to be honest I don't think they were too interested in me, just curious about Sadie, but I think it would have been quite nasty if they had got hold of her.

Yes, it is strange really, I was very proud of him, the way he stood his ground and protected Sadie was quite heart warming.

They both got a big kiss from me :D and I gave them a lot of Chicken for a treat, oh how we regretted that this morning :D

Sadie was shaking all over for a good ten minutes and I had to carry her for that time, when I put her down, Leo wouldn't move more than a step away from her for the rest of the day. :o

Thanks for the response

I had a small dog (she moved in with my father-in-law) and I always said, "A lot of dog in a small package" Bravo to Leo :o
