I am looking for a second hand Super Automatic Espresso machine for home use. Machine should be in good condition and have been well maintained. Looking for Saeco, Jura Impresso, Krups, Spidem, Delonghi, Siemens, etc. Please contact me PM if you have a machine for sale. Please inform brand name, model number/name and asking price. Machine should be in Bangkok or vicinity. :o

You may be better off importing an espresso coffee machine.

Second hand coffee makers can be found for sale on most of the coffee forums. Try Coffee Geek Forum , they have a buy, sell and trade sub-forum. With proper packaging, they can be insured and mailed to you.

Why not spend a little extra and buy a new machine. I notice that you want a super automatic model. These push button models are prone to problems, so you really need a brand that can be serviced in LOS. Not easy.

A semi automatic, such as the Sunbeam 6910 or the Ranchillio Silvia model, may be a better option. Both these models allow you to control how your coffee is made. With the Sunbeam, spare parts are easily obtained and Sunbeam has a good name for after sales service.

Anyway, something for you to think about whilst you await a more positive result from your post. Good luck.

Importing is problematic for a number of reason. The main reason is that most mail order companies sell units destined for the USA and they use 110 volt. We use 220 volt here and since the boilers, pumps, etc. just use the current straight off you cannot convert the machines without changing most of innards. And buying a step-down voltage for the wattage requirements of a coffee machine of this sort requires at least 2000 watts if you allow for headroom, and these converters are big monsters. They are European mail order suppliers but the import duties to Thailand are officially 40% on these machines so when it comes in there will be an unknown bill due to the delivery company before they will hand it over to me.

I have owned super automatics in the USA and they are not prone to breakdown if they are properly maintained. That means cleaning at least once a week and lubing the moving internals with food grade lube. Mine was pulling 10 to 20 shots a day and never had any problems; but it was well cared for.

Yes I agree buying one that can be serviced locally is best; but that presents another quandry. The main importers to LOS are Bon Cafe, The Mall, and Versau. If for some reason it did need service I think they would just sit on it for a long time waiting for parts to come to Thailand. Plus in Thailand the price is much higher than anywher else in the world probably due to the importation duties. I would prefer getting a used one that has been well cared for I can get at a lower price.

With the semis you have the added need of a quality burr grinder; and I just don't want the mess of coffee ground to espreso fineness all over my room. Plus you have to deal with the cast off from making the espresso. It can get quite messy in a confined space.

Thanks for your suggestions.
