Perhaps you ought to have started your thread with Mate - which in English looks like mate but I know in South America translates as Maate

Yeah but people would of thought I was looking for a MATE not a drink....sort of goes together ha ha

I am also interested. I have some bags I brought from the US as I liked this stuff in Argentina. So you might have to ask friends to bring them in. Or you might contact the Argentian embassy as I am sure they are very busy moaning about the expensive beef and wine here.

Not a sure thing, but worth a shot: Take a package of the tea to Villa Market and ask the manager if they can order it. I've read that Villa has accommodated others' requests for hard-to-find (or impossible to find) food items, so maybe they could do it for yerba mate?
