Hi:

Can anyone give me an approximate idea on how much it costs, & the best way to post a DVD to USA or Europe.

I am selling a krav maga self defense dvd on ebay, and I totally forgot about the postage costs.

It is just 1 DVD, (filmed myself in Israel of Krav maga training so I own rights, just to pre empt anyone suggesting I am stealing someones work by priacy, which is something I detest).

So its just 1 DVD, in a very light plastic case, and I was thinking what is cost of standard post to say USA, how long does that take?

If I want to upgrade to a more secure method of posting, so it gets there faster, up still cheap to post, & person I sent to can track it, what is the best service to recommend, cost? time to reach USA or Europe please?

Just on another subject, I want to post each week about 50 letters, just 2 page light paper sales promotion to Ireland & Uk, time to reach there is not too important, so what is the price of a normal air mail letter to Ireland or UK, how long does it take to get there? and what is the next choice up?

Thanks in advance for info, I find I get much better help on here on thaivisa, than going to Soi Postoffice in Pattaya, which will result in steaming coming out of my ears!!! (any do anger management classes lol!! :-))

Cheers

Great. thanks for that. I was actually just on there before I made this post (I try to find out myself, before I come screaming on here for help LOL!).

Say letter post about 100g, (as I cannot find any price lists on there), what approx in Baht would it cost to post this letter size, probably with a bit of bubble wrap in there on those special envelopes to USA or UK or Europe?

Would I be looking 400 B ish?

Also again, as I cannot find it on that Thai post web site, what approx would a normal letter cost to post to Ireland or UK?

Thanks for help everyone. :-)

please keep info coming...

The problem is there is not a fixed rate everywhere, depends if you use a Post Office agent or the main post office. Different agents charge different prices, for the same item..

All have a list, so go along and ask, they will get the list out and tell you/show you…

2 years ago I sent a EMS A5 size legal document, only 2 page to UK, the EMS cost was 1,250 baht., normal Air Mail was 68baht….. Christmas cards last month was 48baht to Europe and 65 baht to USA.. [newly opened agent in the next Village]

Selling on ebay you need to send via EMS so there is proof.. 1- you sent, 2- they received it..

Every 90days I send my document for the ‘reporting’ always EMS, depends from what post office…. Price anything between 12 baht and 34 baht {it is always the same weight] I have been sending every 90days for over 4years……

I see I gave you the wrong link. Their site is a little weird. Go here (had to click on “search” to get there):

http://www.thailandpost.com/search_ems_en.asp

I see Thailand still offers “small packet”, so that’s an option for you, as an alternative to “letter”. You will also find the postage for “int’l letter surf”, about which you asked.

Using registered airmail (add 55 baht), items can be tracked in the US postal system. It doesn't work in the UK though.

The Post Office sells a white padded envelope for 10 Baht and the postage for a DVD inside should be about 70 Baht to either Europe or the U.S. ** Beware of some private mail services though, I have had a bunch of issues from overcharging to plain theft (with hindsight, I now know why they never put any stamps on and why not a single item I mailed there arrived).

EMS can be very expensive for overseas shipments. As you can burn copies of the DVD cheaply, why bother to insure it?

Thanks folks for the info, that really helpful. I get working on it!

aside from the odd ebay thing.

I want to blast out about 100 - 200 posted letters a week, just a low cost flier to promote biz I work into ireland & Uk, so time does not matter as much on that one, I ll just keep grinding out the sales letters, low cost, always good for a few leads coming in! :-)
