Thai Kids And Music

I was amazed to find that one of my thai nieces is musical...she plays simple tunes on a flute...I went ape-shit and got out all of my western tapes...Stones to Bach to the Bulgarian women's chorus...she was a bit overwhelmed...

musical ability is something that I don't associate with thai folks...if you are poor and basic you ain't got the time...

I would like to hear from other falangs that were able to interest their thai kids with music,on a broad scale with western stuff...not to say thai popular music but music in general.

I have eclectic taste but it is all music...if I thought that I could spend money to encourage my nieces's interest I would...
