For the last two years I had retirement visa. This year in May I will not have 800,000 Baht in the bank. Any feedback to switch from retirement visa to marriage visa (legally married in Thailand with one legal child)? Thank you. Rainer

If you have the 40k per month family income it should not be a problem but will require the wife and the additional documents of a family extension of stay.

As you are over 50 , if the child is Thai and you are named as the father on the birth certificate you should be able to get the years extension with no income or funds. Although they do like to see some money in the bank.

Some immigration offices will not know about this but as more people apply it is becoming more well known.
