u were truely kippered up there son .......if you had witnesses i would have got there details(if you could) and also told the police that you were skint and that there was no way you could pay it ...they might have stuck you inside for a few days which wouldnt have been pleasant but maybe the embassy could have been informed that you were being totally ripped off by the local mafia(police).

the police assume you were richer than the girls but i would say get there sponsor a.k.a farang boyfriend to pay as he was probably richer than you!!!

i know its easy to say this as it didnt happen to me and these situations really <deleted> me off the way they just say we are richer so we pay...everything is ok in thailand till something goes wrong then the shi t really hits the fan against us.

Broke the key for a 600 Blade a couple of years back they wanted nearly 30,000 baht as the keys are security chip encoded. Went to see Scott at SiamMotorcycles he had to order a new one from Yamaha took a week to come and I still had to pay full rental all the time.

It ended up costing me 22,000 baht and 2 trips to Soi 9...........

Right now I'm trying to get a rental Nouvo back got side swiped junction Soi 17/Thep last week police said I had to pay the car owner 6000 or I could go to court but it could take up to 2 years and see what the judge said. Should of seen the coppers face when I said I was happy to go to court as I lovedthe country so much! Now just got sort out the rental costs.

No it wasn't written off, Just all the left sided fairing and other plastics on the left, the left indicators , front light and both indicators, Back wheel, Complete paint job really for all the plastics.

To start off with Don (The guy who rent me it down soi 13/2 or 13/3 beach road) Wanted to charge me 150,000 baht.. But my thai mrs had long talks with him and he agreed to 100,000 in the end. Much to his sister anger. She was livid... It's obvious that that how they make all their money, From the crashes.
