Jaime
Anyone know what the military service situation is as far as kids with dual UK/Thai nationality is concerned? We have three boys with dual nationality and the eldest is 16 next month. We live in the UK but the kids are also registered in Thailand on their grandfather's Tabean Bahn book. Are they going to get called up at 20 or 21? Are they exempt if living abroad? Are they going to come on holiday one year to find that they get arrested and marched off to the army? Can anyone shed light on this for me please? I don't fancy the idea of them getting sent down to Pattani or Narathiwat anytime soon!

astral
Strangely enough to be on the list for conscription you also have to register at the local amphur office, around age 16-18. Failure to register means a fine of 100 baht. Failure to turn up for the draft ballot means arrest and imprisonment for 3 month. Appearance for draft can be postoned if in full time education. Hope this helps
