Children's Museum

Featured Replies

Has anybody been to the Children's Museum near Chatujak weekend market?

We will have four adults and four children aged between 7 and 11 with us.

I've googled it and found their website and the entrance fees seems a bit high

at 150 baht per adult and not much less than that for children.

I just wondered if it's worth the effort.

Thanks for any help

We just took the kids there a couple of weeks ago. Mine are 7 and 4. They had a ball. If you want to get into the Disney section, it's 150 baht, but if you just want in the regular sections it's 50 baht, I believe. Personally, I think you can skip the Disney part because there's loads for kids to see and do, and there's a great sandy playground area outside. There's nothing to eat there during the week, so either bring your lunch, or get a stamp from the entrance that will let you go across the street to eat and then come back in the museum.

My kids have always lived here so have never been to kids' science museums in other countries. If yours have, they may be disappointed. It's a good attempt at a kids museum, but it doesn't hold a candle to what you get "back home".

My parents also came with us and because they're 60, they got in free.

Thanks very much. I was 60 this week so maybe I'll get in free.

Two of the kids are Thai and two are visitors from UK. But it sounds loike an OK visit.

Thanks again.

They do charge foreigners and Thais differently. Another option, although further afield, is the national science museum in Pathum Thani. It's much cheaper and far more extensive. Makes a great day's outing. Has indoor and outdoor play areas, all with a science bent, and fabulous exhibits on three floors in one building and a single in the other.

I personally don't mind the kids' museum but I know several parents who criticize its upkeep.
