Hello,

I assume this isn't asked so often. I have a Thai wife and we are currently living abroad in the Netherlands (I am American). Our first child was born in Thailand and it was easy to get him passports for both countries. Does anyone know if we will have problems with getting our next child Thai passport/nationality if we do not return to have the chid born in Thailand? I am asking because we just found out today and we would like to make sure he gets Thai nationality. I hope some of you out there may have had personal experience with a similar situation. Thank you in advance for your help.

You should be able to register your child's birth at the Thai embassy in the Netherlands and simultaneously apply for a Thai passport.

That's the procedure my wife and I followed when registering our son at the Thai embassy in London and the passport arrived about 4 weeks later. I don't see why it should be different at the Thai embassy in the Hague/Amsterdam (whichever it is).

It is the Hague Scouse and the rules are same same as London.
