I live in Khao Lak most of the year, but now I'm in San Francisco and my brother-in-law (a Thai living in Bangkok) asked me to ship him three small new electronic engine parts for his Jeep. The package will weigh less than 2 pounds (1Kg) and it will cost me about $30USD to send it via US Priority International Mail.

My questions are:

1. Is this an item I must declare and expect him to pay customs?

2. If I send it with a declared value of $25USD, how much could he pay in customs and taxes?

3. Will he have to pay customs at all???

4. If he must ship them back, will I have to pay customs on the return??

Help from anyone with experience on this would be helpful.
