Kernel Data Inpage Error

Featured Replies

my computer drives me completely nuts now...since a while it produces the dreaded BSOD with the aforementioned error.

I did already the memory check that Reimar recommended and memory does not seem to be the problem. But I noticed that usually there is a clack-clack coming from the boot HDD just before the BSOD comes up. HDD error, eh?

Ok. brought the HDD in question to the shop and got me a new one on warrranty (the HDD was just two weeks old). Both drives were the same, WD Caviar 80 GB.

Much to my surprise, there were already two partitions on the new HDD. One NTFS with no data and another one unformatted.

The BIOS had tremendous problems detecting the new HDD, and so had Acronis. It took me about one hour with different jumper settings and changing the CD ROM from Primary slave to secondary master and so on to get the new HDD up and running. Having said this, as by writing of this post the Acronis backup stalled and upon reboot the computer claims that there is no primary HDD. Switch off the main switch at the power supply AND plug out and replug the HDD to get this fixed.

I am VERY close to smash the box against a wall. :o

The mainboard is a P4C800-e if this helps.

Does anybody out there has an idea what the problem could be? HDD Controller on the mainboard?

Three things to do to first:

1. take out the MB from the case and use high Airpressure for to clean from Dust;

2. Re-write the Bios even if you have the latest version;

3. use NEW Conductor 80 Cable for the Data connection from HDD to MB

After that, if no changes, call me in the morning!!

Cheers because I'll go to sleep now after an 19 hour day!
