danmarnj Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 On January 10, I mailed my passport to the Thai Embassy in Washington DC to obtain my 60 day tourist visa. It is now February 1 and it has yet to be returned to me. My phone calls and emails to the embassy are not answered. The last time I applied for the same type toursit visa, I had my passport returned within 10 days. Did any one have this problem? What are my options?
sriracha john Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 It certainly shouldn't have taken this long. Was it sent by Priority Mail, Express Mail, Registered Mail, or other means of instantaneous tracking? Even it wasn't you can request the Post Office to conduct a tracer on it... but then, you would need info from the Embassy as to when they allegedly sent it back. What happens when you attempt to call the Embassy? If the phone just rings and rings, I'd double-check the phone number I was using. Surely someone is there to answer the phone during normal hours.

danmarnj Posted February 4, 2008 Author Posted February 4, 2008 Problem sorted then? Kudos again to Thaivisa! well,,I got my passport and visa stamp in the mail today. I phoned the embassy and they held on to my passport because I asked for multiple entry. The woman stated that they tried to phone me (they did not try) and ask for more money, as is more expensive for 2 entries as opposed to a single entry. Thanks to everyone who offered a helpful solution
