Can you book a hotel on arrival in HK and if so are the prices OK?

Any good suggestions of places to stay next week for 3 nights please - I have no idea!

You can book on arrival, of course, but you'd probably do a lot better searching online and booking ahead.

Note that the past couple of years have seen lots of Mainland visitors in Hong Kong, and hotel prices have risen a lot, especially at the budget end of the scale. As well, next week is the tail-end of Chinese New Year, and that could also make rooms tight.

Best to start looking now (and remember that HK travel agents will closed beginning Wednesday afternoon for CNY).
