What's The Best 30 Day Visa Run Tour Bus From Bkk?

Recommended Posts

I will need to do a 30 day visa run on or before the 26th of this month. I've only done visas outside Thailand at embassies before (took 2-4 days each) but due some time limitations, i am unable to do so within the coming two weeks, so this is the only option for me this time. I plan on going with one of those tour buses from Bangkok - but i really have no idea which ones are recommended and which not? If anyone could give some suggestions, that would be appreciated. Also, what border (somewhat civilized, if possible) do you recommend?

Note: Showing funds in Thailand or cash is not a problem for me at the border, i'm already aware and prepared for that.

Rainman

I have done a couple of quick tourist visa runs in the last 3 months to Poipet.

Both times I went with Jack's Golf tours from Sukhumvit Soi 12 at 0630.

I have no connection with them at all other than using the service which was reccommended by a friend.

The trip was a good one and the bus almost new (not a minibus). It cost me 2,000 each time and that included the visa fee, bus trip, free luch at one of the casinos etc. We stopped for a break once each way after an hour or so.

You give them your passport and sign the odd bit of paper and they do all the rest. The last time we just walked through as a group, had lunch and waited about an hour, walked back through the border, got on the bus and went back to Bangkok.

It may have changed in the last few days with the cash requirement but Jack's Golf can update you on that.

You can contact them at 0 2251 1946-7 or http://JackGolf.com

I wasn't so impressed by the lunch but it was free (sort of).

One of my friends went to Poipet last summer.

He had many choices how to get there but finally he chose to go by air-conditioning bus from Mo-chit. And another friend who lives in Aranyapratad goes back home by the bus too.

However, the tour that mentioned below would be a choice for you if you want some convenient things.

Wherever you go, be safe. :o

Thanks billd766. I just called them Jack Golf and have arranged for a trip to Poipet for tomorrow. Spoke to a lady by the name of Nithaya. She wanted me to be at the corner of Soi 12 and Sukhumvit (near the7-11) at 6:45 am with my passport and a photo - cost B2000, and it is a minibus tomorrow.

Will update you'll when I get back.

CTG, you just go to Morchit and catch a bus from there that takes you close to the border for 130-180 baht, then a short tuk-tuk ride for 40 baht, get stamped out, pay 1,000 baht for a Cambodian visa, return to Thailand for a new visa etc; then return by tuk-tuk and bus back to Bangkok. Not hard to do but for someone nervous about doing it solo then paying a company like JackGolf an extra 500 baht to take care of things may be a good idea. I saw their bus the other day and it looked good.

For a detailed D.I.Y. on getting to Poipet everyone should read this.

since we are on this topic i would like to put in a few word, i never took a luxury bus or a mini van any where before, i do drive and have license so no need for them, the other day i have to do a visa run to activate my second entry for my tourist visa, i decided not to drive this time and try out the luxury bus services, i took Jack's Golf tours from Sukhumvit Soi 12, from my experiment i find that this services is top nod, very professional, comfort ride even tho i don't like bus ride give me a headache, the staff are friendly always smile, movies and drink through out the trip plenty of space on the bus to streght out, if you are the first timer to do visa run, take this service and you wouldn't get lost, they do everything for you at the border all you do is just follow them, have a wonderful lunch and head back home(town bkk), i have a wonderful day on that visa trip, i have done a few dozen visa run in the past, but this time it was excelent, i would recommend to anybody that want to try them out for yourself (Jack's Golf tours).

I heard that to visit the Poipet casinos it was 200 baht for a day pass for Thai nationals, 20 baht if you're a Thai from the adjoining Thai province. That's only what l've heard so it may or may not be accurate. Nothing else to see in Poipet. If you want to go much further in to Cambodia you have to pay 1,000 baht for a visa the same as everyone else. In that case you should definitely take the opportunity to visit Angkor Wat for a few days, just a few hours by taxi, details in the website l listed earlier.
