Face Product Recommendations

I need some recommendations from the ladies about facial moisturiser and cleansers that you use that are available in Thailand (at Big C or Tesco). I have been using all natural ones from Australia but they're nearly finished :D so must prepare myself :o . I'm wondering about skin refining moisturisers (read anti-aging!), do they really make a difference with tightening skin? I have normal to oily skin so need a good scrub cleanser. Not specifically after all natural as so hard to get in rural Thailand, just don't like the whitening creams. Any recommendations would be appreciated :D

I also avoid whitening creams. They scare me a bit. I usually find Scacare products quite genuine: the treatment cream which is natural and non greasy and the Scacare Perfect with SPF 30-50 which as far as I understand is not whitening. For night-time I use Garnier Wrinkle Lift which is nutrient but not greasy. When I run out of money/cream I use olive and coconut oil as night emollients. In the morning the grease is gone and my skin has a healthy glow. :D

I am an absolute Oriental Princess obsessive, which is in outlet store that you can find in most Tesco malls. I have very sensitive skin and in the UK was using Dermalogica which is really expensive. I found when I came here though my skin type changed a lot and I tried Oriental Princess and was really impressed. I use their moisturizing day gel which is about 300 baht. I have also used their shampoos, face spritz and sun screens. They do a great range in spf stuff, and have different skin care ranges depending on your requirements - anti aging, oil control etc. Even the make up is good. The ingredients are supposedly all natural, but I don't buy it - however they are not harsh as my skin wouldn't tolerate it if they were. Can't reccommend it highly enough!

Thanks for your recommendations. I've been using Scacare cleansers but haven't used their moisturizers. I haven't seen an Oriental Princess outlet in my area actually so may have to try the Garnier one. Thanks again :o

You're welcome. If I find anything else worth trying I'll let you know.

Ah interesting to see what other gals use - I love all kinds of creams and potions! Typical girl in that sense. :o

For me, often depends on budget. Although as I have sensitive and combination/oily skin (mmm sounds delightful eh! :o ), once I find a product that suits me, I tend to stick to it and believ you me, I have tried many! :D In the UK, I often visit the counters at the Dept Stores to "try" their samples! Great to try before you buy and also handy for travelling! In Thailand and at Suvarnabhumi though, they are reluctant to give out samples... Maybe ,my pic has been circulated with the caption "DO NOT GIVE FREEBIES TO THIS GIRL - SHE WILL ONLY COME BACK FOR MORE!" :bah:

Back to the OP! Sorry I digress....

1) L'oreal products from Tesco, Boots etc - they do a great facial scrub and also facial foam.

2) If I am feeling flush though, I would "treat" myself to the Clarins "Doux Gommage Visage" (Gentle Exfoliating Refiner) which has micro particles and is LOVELY! I have to ration usage :D

3) Boots No 7 Range - I am halfway through their Restore & Renew" Serum which was touted as the "latest thing" on the Horizons documentary in the UK. There were waiting lists at Boots in the UK after this programme aired! :D . It goes on lovely!

4) Regarding Moisturiser, Since having tried SO many different brands and finding them wither too oily/dry/encouraged spots etc, I tried CHANEL "Rectifiance Intense Nuit" (Retexturising Line Correcting Night Cream).

OMG!!!! Cream???, they should have written Dream!!!! - cos it goes on like a dream! Last time I returned to the UK, my Mum hijacked the pot everynight :D . Another convert! It's expensive but it lasts and the best thing is it suits my skin so much.

5) I use Nivea Visage Face masks from Boots/Watsons or Montagne Jeunesse Face masks from Watsons - the latter are my fave!

Enjoy :bah:

Thanks Andiamo, nice to get details! I ended up buying the Scacare Perfect SPF 30 that Ave recommended because I got pretty excited by the SPF factor. It's really super light actually and soaks in really fast (maybe too fast!), will see how I get on with that. I have heard rave reviews about that Boots No 7 range looking on the net....I'm having a fleeting visit to Bangkok next week so will have to drop into a Boots store and go crazy :o

If you are in the age limit (20-30)y use Lancome:

Lancome - Absolue - Night Care (wide collection -choose what matches your needs.)

Lancome - Absolue - Eye Care

Lancome - Absolue - Day Care (wide collection -choose what matches your needs).

If you are in the age (30-40) use these ones, it works miracles and you'd look great even if you'd been hit by a train on the night before:

Shiseido Benefiance Creamy Cleansing Foam 125ml/4.2oz (40$) the best face foam & scrub ever!

Shiseido Revital Treatment Cleansing Cream 120g/4oz (48$)

Shiseido Future Solution Eye & Lip Contour Cream 15ml/0.5oz (120$)

Shiseido Bio Performance Super Restoring Cream 50ml/1.7oz (96$)

Shiseido Sunmedic Mild UV Day Protect SPF 50 30g/1oz(32$)

I use this collection and it is available in every mall or Central department store here in BKK.

If you are in the age limit (40-50)y use Clarins, it would do your skin more benefit(my sister is 50something and she looks great using them daily):

Clarins - Super Restorative - Day Care (wide collection -choose what matches your needs).

Clarins - Super Restorative - Eye Care

Clarins - Super Restorative - Night Care (wide collection -choose what matches your needs).

Thanks zaza, now I have no doubt the effect of Lancome Absolue eye cream on me :o , not suitable for my age.

Thanks ZaZa, it's great to see what others use and recommend so it gives us other ideas to try!

Next time I run out, I will defo check out some of your recommendations!

Cheers. :o

Hello,

I know this is a girly topic but I'm also into grooming care. I've been using ZIRH Clean which is a higher end mens facial clenser available in the US for years and recently have run out. Apparently some of the Boot's and other department stores in Bangkok, Phuket, and a couple of other places service the product. Wondering if any of you have seen these products in any of the stores around Bangkok. Let me know so I can get some the next time I'm in the area.

Thanks.

You are most welcomed ladies :D I hope I was a bit of benefit there with my one and only skill which is (shopping). :o

Thanks for that list zaza! I've been using the Scacare spf 30 serum for about a week and the Boots #7 Restore and Renew for only 4 days and I swear I can see a difference! I have always had big pores and now they've completely shrunk making my skin look much clearer. Also one of my cheeks has had blotchy discolouration for months which appear lighter already...talk about fast acting!!

I have to agree, I gave into the impluse to by that Boots Serum and I really like it.

I use shieshedo eyecream and a night cream and I have never used expensive creams but after seeing a friend was older and looked great I did the splurge. Happy I did. The nightcream (for 30-40) year olds is 1400 baht but it is quite a big jar.

HOwever the Benefiance eyecream has perfume in it and I dont like that!

After an expensive Body Shop moisturiser I am now trying Aloe Vera and it's very good. Only problem is it seems to leave a layer on your skin so if you use concealer or foundation it can be a little gunky. On it's on though it's beautiful and very natural
