I picked up a second hand Nokia from a mate and it was ok but the last 2 days it goes "not charging" sometimes and then it does go "charging", it stops after a few minutes and reverts to the "not charging".

The charger seems to work ok with an ancient old nokia so I'm not blaming the charger just yet.

Could it be something with the phone ?

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Just a suggestion.

I encountered a similar problem a while back. Take a look at the battery and battery charger voltages. From what I remember Nokia have 2 battery voltages. 3.5v and 3.7v? The older charger worked with the 3.5 battery but not the newer 3.7v battery. Non original Nokia chargers were also 3.5v at the time.

Good idea, thanks for that, I'll have a look.

It did charge in the end last night but it took about 100 attempts to say "charging" and then another 20 where it fell over before completing the charge.

Can't say for sure as I don't know which battery is being used - but it's also possible that the battery has a memory effect from partial charges and needs to be reconditioned.
