Blancmange - Should It Be Banned In Thailand?

i used to love Blancmange but now i've grown up and matured, i like Angel Delight or Ambrosia Custard straight out of the tin :D

Ambrosia - "Devon knows how they make it so creamy". :o

I want a tin now.

Does Villa sell it?

I am not surprised this highly controversial topic has taken off so much.

I think the only legitimate way to resolve this highly controvertible issue is with a poll, which will thus propel it to the paragon of attention it so richly deserves.

Possible poll options:

If you think this is about a refreshment to eat:

1. Ban the overly-sweet dessert

2. Allow the delicious gelatin to remain

If you think this about a band:

1. Ban the nausea-inducing music

2. Forbid any airing of the mind-rotting music by this ridiculous 80's gender-unsure band

These categories and options seem fair enough.

Ambrosia Rice pudding or macaroni pudding is far better than the custard, but as already mentioned it has to be eaten straight from the tin.

I'm sorry but I refuse to believe that anyone ever liked macaroni. It is indisputably the most disgusting food on the planet, especially when covered in cheese :o

I agree totally.

Blancmange should abandon this silly idea of a tour of Thailand and just concentrate on making deserts.

I just spent 5 days at my parents place in the UK and managed to eat 2 large home made macaroni puddings. There was no need to mention cheese though. Ambrosia don't use cheese so why should anyone else?

I think he's confused. The maccaroni that Ambrosia make is a desert, not the savoury type.

For disgusting, Semolina or Tapioca (frogspawn) has to be the most revolting.

The desert is indeed where the band needs to go... although making more desert isn't such a good idea given the problem the world has with desertification in some areas. I wouldn't object, however, if the band asked for some dessert in the desert... just so long as they obeyed their banning in Thailand.

5 weeks until I go back to the UK for a visit

Following on from this thread.... :o one of the first things on my TO DO List will be:-

1) Open the cupboard at home, take out a tin of Ambrosia custard and spoon it out of the tin into my chops!!

Ahhhh bliss :D

Oh for heavens sake it’s really not that difficult to understand. The lines to the chorus of the song are:

“I’m so tall, I’m so tall. You raise me and then you let me fall”

So the question is, in these days of political correctness, is it acceptable to have Caucasian people running around Asian countries where the people are, shall we say, a little vertically challenged, bragging about how tall they are?

You are completely right. In our modern world we shouldn't be inadvertently mocking the vertically challenged races. What's next, an albino band going around countries with dark skinned people singing "I'm so white, I'm so white"?

How would the west like it if Thai's started going around the UK or the US singing "I'm not fat, I'm not fat"?

I say put an outright ban on them and everyone over 6 feet tall.

Imagine my dismay and horror at finding out that Thailand is a major producer and exporter of the horrible dessert food "tapioca". It was called sago pudding or "frogspawn" when I was at school, and still gives me nightmares even now.... :o

Thailand should just say "no" to any liquified type of sugary dessert dish.

Does runny banana custard fall into that category? I'm gonna have to look for somewhere else to live if that gets banned. Also what about the green noodles, (probably made of frog snot), cooked in coconut milk, some of the runny ones are the best.

Just like the "Grange Hill - Just say no campaign". All we need now is Zammo.

Well I have just watched this video and I do seem to remember my parents having this composition in their grammar phone collection.

Er, what sort of phone collection is that?

I liked jelly and still do, but was not keen on blancmange, even if my mum made it. Some flavoured ones were ok. I must try to make some myself.

If talking about a group, I've never heard of them. Have i been deprived?
