End Of Job Contract And New Visa

Recommended Posts

My job with a Thai company will end on February 29th. I know after that I have 7 days to surrender my work permit and apply for a new visa abroad. However since I am using my holidays now and already stopped working and I am invited for a job interview I wondered if I can combine the travelling for this interview with my trip to Penang. So the question is: can I apply for a new non-imm B visa (based on the invitation letter for the job interview) or must I surrender my work permit first. If I do that can I get in trouble at some stage for surrendering my WP two weeks before the end of my contract. (I will pay tax until the end of this month). Hence theoratically they can charge me with working without a WP. Advice appreciated.
