Former Husband Fatally Attacks Ex-Wife's New Partner in Bangkok
Picture from responders. A violent attack occurred in Bangkok when a man fatally stabbed his ex-wife’s new partner, citing provocation via a messaging app. The incident took place late at night on 22 February in Soi Bang Bon 3, Bangkok, leading to the death of a 32-year-old tomboy woman. The suspect, identified as Mr. Saw, 46, reportedly ambushed Ms. Xin Oo, a Myanmar national, before stabbing her in the chest. She was rushed to hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after. Mr. Saw fled the scene immediately after the attack. Eyewitnesses stated that Ms. Xin Oo and her partner, Ms. Noi, 32, were returning to their rented accommodation when the suspect confronted them. Ms. Noi, the suspect’s former wife, explained that she had previously been in a relationship with Mr. Saw for 15 years, during which they had two children together. She ended the relationship due to his violent behaviour when intoxicated and later entered a relationship with the victim. According to witnesses, Mr. Saw had previously harassed the couple and had been warned against coming near their residence. On the night of the incident, he lay in wait near the couple’s workplace, where he launched his attack. Local authorities later apprehended Mr. Saw when he returned to the area. During police interrogation, he claimed he was provoked by messages sent via a messaging app, which led him to commit the crime. When asked if he had planned the attack, he refused to respond and denied ever physically abusing his ex-wife. Bang Bon Police Station has charged Mr. Saw with murder, and he will be remanded in custody at the Thonburi Criminal Court pending further investigation. -- 2025-02-24 -
