Multiple Entry Tourist Visa...

Recommended Posts

I don't think they do exist anymore (?), a quadruple entry (I think) is the best you can get and I don't know of anywhere in Asia that would issue one of these.

Why do you want a multiple entry tourist with an activation period of only 6 months? The most you could use in that amount of time would be a triple?

Immigration generally don't issue these per se (they'd stamp you to activate it kind of thing...sorry if my terminology is off), rather a Consulate or Embassy would. I think it would be around 2,000 Baht (ish) per entry? Or in Pounds, Hull charges:

TOURIST VISA FEES: Single = £25.00 Double = £45.00 Triple = £60.00 Quadruple = £70.00

A tourist visa can allow one, two, three and sometimes four entries of 60 days each. Each entry can normally be extended by immigration for an additional 30 days making a total of a 90 day visit without leaving country (cost an additional 1,900 baht).

You do not get from immigration but from a Royal Thai Consulate in a country other than Thailand.

Cost will be by entry(s) and vary from country to country according to exchange rates.

The visa in question is a sixty days triple entry. Does it make sense?

A friend of mine is already in Thailand on holidays and she would like to spend some more time here without having to care about stamps and borders. I heard that you can actually get a six month tourist visa and that you can extend it for 9 months somehow... but the person who gave me the information didn t really know much more.

So she can exit/enter and receive a 60 day stamp and if needed can extend for up to 30 days.

Believe talk of a six month extend nine month must have been the three entry visa which may have only been valid for six months from issue date but could be used three times and if each extended would give you almost 9 months in country as last entry could be day before visa expired and would get 60 day stamp and that could be extended 30 days.

No six month tourist Visa as far as I know. Although the activation period can be for 6 months!

So you get it today 21-9-04 and it's valid (activation wise) for 6 months so until 21-3-05 (roughly).

Come in get 60 days, extend at Imm (1,900 Baht) by 30 days (so 3 months half way through the activation period. Exit and re-enter get another 60 days, extend at Imm (1,900 aht) by 30 days (which may take you over the last date of 21-3-05), you need to make sure you exit and re-enter the day before the 21-3-05 (can you do it same day?) to get another 60 days with the option of extending (finally, probably) at Imm (1,900 Baht) by 30 days. So almost 9 months of cover!

Penang I've heard do them?

No such thing as a 6 month extendable to 9 month as far as I know..

A tourist visa is generally 60 days extendable to 90 days for a price of 1900 baht (can see the possiblity for nmonths / days confusion there)... So a triple entry 60 day 6 month visa can actually give 9 months in the kingdom as its valid right up to the end of the first 6 months to ENTER the kingdom...

So 3x 60 day / 6 month visa becomes 60 days + 30day 1900 baht extension (do this twice) then return last day the 6 month is valid getting another 60 day and 30 day extention..

Cost of your triple entry plus 3 times 90 day and 2 visa runs gives you a total of 270 usable days coverage.

A triple entry tourist visa has to be used within 6 months of getting it from the consulate, ie if you get it 1 month b4 you travel will expire 5 months after you arrive in Thailand.

You will initially get 60 days on entering Thailand, this can be extended at an immigration office for 30 days (1900 Baht)

Then, you MAybe can extend again for 15 + 15 days.

Then you have to leave the country, usually at a land border and get another 60 days on return. (Note, maybe have to show immigration 20,000 Baht CASH)

THis can again be extended.

If you do another border run, just before the 6 month from obtaing visa at consulate expires, will get 60 days, again can be extended.

So if you get your visa from consulate just b4 you travel, can last for 9 months.

Maybe better to get non-immigrant visa if you are in UK.
