dazdaz
Hi, I have been wondering for quite some time what kind of jobs, expats are doing in Thailand. As I read through the job adverts I am constantly surprised to see what kind of positions are advertised. Of course some people are lucky enough, to have retired or <shock> to not even have a job, good for you ! In the meantime, I continue to buy my lotto ticket and take my abysmal pittance of just 4 weeks vacation somewhere nice :-) Whoever decided that 4 weeks would be the standard anyway, it's not enough time. Anyway, I am curious, and everyone has a story to tell from Professional Thai boxers to carpenters to Shiatsu Therapists (do Westerners get a work permit for this and enough business interest ?). Thanks.

billd766
House husband and father of a 3 1/2 year old son while my wife works at her small shop and noodle stall. The fact that I am 63 and getting some pension money helps. Sometimes I am lucky enough to work offshore and that helps too. I am trying to learn farming with the 20 rai that my wife has but I am running up against the "my father and his father before him always did it this way" syndrome, but I am quietly working on it. This is for the Daddy bit. and sometimes this :D

freitag1
Internet Marketing as well (focusing on various niches) but I also build up another real world business on the side. Internet Marketing pays everything but I don't want to spend so much time in front of my computers anymore.

ericB
Opposite to others, I am not rich, not won lottery, nor have others working for me. I am freelance programmer, doing outsource jobs mostly for US companies that believe I am not completly numb. I work from home, but it's way more complicated than work in office. If I do not controle myself, it could quickly big problems. Earnings are similar to what a I could get in a firm here, the big problem being the visa. By the way I do that since I am in Thailand (2002), doing it before to come here too.
