Ko Chang

Anybody know some good areas on Ko Chang, near beach,nightlife,bars not too far away?(I am a mature guy travelling alone,not sure whether to take a girlfriend or not....don't want to be a "Robinson Crusoe" !)..... where can you rent rooms at reasonable price(500 to 1000 baht ?).....

Evidently,White Sands Beach is popular(???) but the prices from Internet are in the Thaksin price range.

Going early next month....

Hundreds of places for that amount of money. Just go and have a look around.I would not stay on White Sands, it gets very dirty and too busy. Go further down Kai Bae is nice place with many cheap resorts- Paradise is great,many others, walk about

Here is a good site for finding cheap and clean accomodation in White Sand Beach.

There are bars for meeting girls in Koh Chang, but be very careful as a quick scam could see you bailing yourself out of the police station.

Avoid 'mini Pattaya' and try the new bar complex a couple of miles further along.

Try Thai Garden Hill Resort, (www.tgdresort.com) it's a new resort that hasn't got onto the big hotel booking sites yet, but will soon I suspect. Very new/clean/peaceful. Fab pool and only 10 mins stroll to beach, 5 mins to entertainment complex. Stayed there a couple of months back. Between White Sands 5 - 10 mins taxi and Klong Prao 5 - 10 mins taxi. No joiner fee, and your lady gets breaky too (if you can get her away from TV that is!!)
