Uk Visa Question

Featured Replies

Hi all

I am trying to get my thai GF a uk holiday visa.

I have a couple of questions.

all the paperwork that i supply for being a sponsor i.e. Salary slips and bank statments etc, Do i get these back?

There is a lot of personal stuff being handed over and would like it back.

Final note , My G/F works in a resturant, but its more like unoffical work and she is not keen on getting a letter of employment of the owner and i dont even think it will be on headed paper even if she got a letter.

She goes back home on monday and i meet up with her in a months time , so will it be better to say she is unemployed?

i have found this site very usefull, so thank you

Hi malct,

You will probably find this post has been moved to the Visa section. And it is there where you will get the best information.

To answer a couple of your question's.

Yes, you get all of your documentation back after the visa has been given or refused.

As for her job. The biggest difficulty you have, will be convincing the ECO that she intends to return to Thailand after the visit. This is one of the biggest stumbling blocks for visa applications. So letters from employers, proof of land and property ownership etc. all go to make a better case in convincing the ECO that she will indeed return.

Good luck.
