Direction To Khao Yai

Featured Replies

Going to the Greenery Resort in Khao Yai on Monday and need instructions on how to get there from BKK (we are at ABAC University). Where is the bus station, how often do they run, where do we get off the bus? From the place we get off the bus do we take a taxi to the Resort?

Thanks to all.

What about phoning the Resort and asking them ... ???

Eric,

The buses to Pak Chong leave from the Northern Bus Terminal (Mo Chit) about every half hour.

Try phoning the greenery's Bangkok Office (02) 661 - 2999 or e-mail on [email protected].

They may have a pick up service from Pak Chong that meets certain buses.

Hope this helps

THANK YOU

Eric,

as there seems to be very little info on the net about this area, could you spare a few mins to give us a quick report on the area and hotel.

Thanks

We tried several hotels for last week but all were full or did not respond to requests for info. Finally booked a place called Sak Pho Duen. Not to optimistic about it, but my daughter liked the photos of the pool. I really wanted to stay in the park, but without a car it seemed difficult to arrange.

We are going next week and will let you know how it was.

We just returned from 5 days in Khao Yai. We did not stay in the park itself as we did not have a car (bussed it) and you really need your own car to be able to stay inside the park. But the cabins looked pretty nice. The park itself is very large. We took an all day tour with Khao Yai Garden Lodge. Cost 950B per person, 700B for a kid. These guys have the lodge and do tours. The lodge seemed to have mostly Euopean tourists, probably because the lodge was built by a german guy. I think they said a room is about 1550B. We stayed at the Sak Phu Duen hotel. Booked it through Agoda.com for a little more than half the advertised rate. Nor tourists there, except us, and the hotel was nearly empty excetp on Sat and Sun. It was a nice place, reasonable restaraunt, but a little isolated if you dont have your own trasportation. We enjoyed it though.

The tour was good. Lots of animals to see. Waterfalls, swimming in the river, hiking. Not to strenous for my 9 year old.

Transportation from BKK to Pakchong was fairly smooth. Skytrain to Mochit, taxi to Northern bus termanal and then to Pakchong. Getting from Packchong to your hotel can be a bit of a challange if your hotel does not pick you up. We had a taxi that wanted 400B. After asking around found a guy to do it for 200B. That seems to be the going price.

All in all a good trip. No problems. We would do it again in the winter when there are more flowering trees and birds
