Just watching the car racing on channel 11 (Thai), it seems they think it's best to blur the tobacco sponsors name on the cars as they're driving around the track. As well as blur the cigarette or alcoholic drink in a show/movie, however an image of a blood ridden dead body or a M-16 pointed at someones head seems fine. What a ####ing joke.

Poor bastard, he actually slips up occasionally and gives us a glimpse of the name, and as soon as I see it I feel like lighting up..

I don't think that you will see that either on Thai TV. Can not say for sure regarding news bulletins but certainly on regular progs a gun pointed at a head is a no-no. Waving a gun around and such like is ok same as holding a cigarette

It is surprising that UBC still gets to show Formula One.

Many of the races are plastered with cigarette ads, as are the cars,

but the cigarette sponsorship is being phased out.

This censorship ban is ruining F1 as a spectator sport.

The adverts are the only bit worth watching.

The racing itself is little more than a crash at the start followed by a procession to the finish.

I'd rather watch paint dry.

Are you serious?, guns play a huge part in Thai TV, in both soapies as well as movies, also there's a game show I was watching the other day where the contestants had guns pointed at them in a 'fun' way

Yeah, but you rarely see them pointed at the head (on TV).

Its a respect thing I think - for drama at least.

In real life its harder to hit the head than the torso, so that's where they point it.
