Health Insurance In Cm

Featured Replies

Hi

My Thai girlfriend have baby..

We have confirmed it at hospital two days ago..

Well.. from now on I expect she need medical attention time to time..

Problem is she is out of work..

That means no insurance right now..

So I look for any insurance that will cover hospital bills for pregnant..

I am in Chiangmai and someone told me that AIA is the best in Cm area..

But I afraid they do not cover anything related with pregnant..

Does anyone have knowledge about this matter?

Any help would be appreciate!!

Thank you..

Good day!

May we be the first to congratulate you on the good news.

Now down to the painful bit. You will not be able to claim from any insurance even if you were to start now – maternity benefit is (typically) subject to a 12 month waiting period in the 1st year – bottom line, to claim you need to plan ahead. However she should have cover as if she has complications then she will be covered e.g. miscarriage & curettage (subject to just a 90 days waiting period)

AIA – a bit of a misconception here. AIA is a Life Insurance company and as such does not have a license for general i.e. medical insurance. The way they ‘get around’ that is to bundle a (small) life policy with a medical policy therefore not offering the full medical cover for the premium.
