Fugitive in r_ape case caught following road accident

SUPHAN BURI: -- Suphan Buri - A 10-wheel truck driver, who has been on the run for over a year on a child r_ape charge, was caught Friday after his truck hit a tree on a roadside early Friday morning.

Patrol policemen became suspicious after Nirut Sarasalin, 31, turned down their offer to take him out of the driver seat and take him to a hospital following the accident in Song Phinong district at 1:30 am.

A policeman then used his mobile phone to check a police online database of criminal records through automated SMS system and got a reply from the system that Nirut was wanted on an arrest warrant for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl on February 28 last year.

So, Nirut was arrested at the scene.

A policeman does his job well and a rapist is taken out of circulation.

Ok, so now, I'll leave it to the Thai cop bashers to make their inappropriate comments about the bribe not being large enough etc.

Let's bash than, shall we.

How can a child molester be a fugitive for a year, work and by accident being arrested?

Must have been some manhunt!

The BIB seem to be fairly profecient at stumbling across suspected and wanted criminals. They just seem to have a more difficult time fileing the proper paper work or locating the witness required to get a conviction. No bash intended, just a observation by a visitor to this country.
