astral
Very striking. Did the figure sitting on the beach have to be posed, or was it just a bonus? What kind of filter did you have on? or is it electronic processing. Perhaps we need a thread on using filters and their effects, it seems to be a lost art. The Vulcan
The scene is completely authentic. I was dining at a beach front restaurant and watching the clouds gather when the figure appeared. Lucky I guess. The image is a Lightroom/Photoshop colour and contrast manipulation. I have a selection of pre-sets that I play with. Here's the original washed out slide (15 years poor storage) and the subsequent restoration. The submitted image is a play on saturation/colours/curves and a bit of toning. I don't use filters anymore - Photoshop has pretty much made them redundant. I'll employ an ND or Polariser sometime but usually to adjust the exposure rather than create an effect.

Ciaphas
Great photo I really love the brown tone photo feels a lot warmer which I feel is more suited to a beach scene.
