gregchambers
I live in Thailand all the time with girlfriend but we are planning to move to the UK permanently. We have visited the UK together every year on visitors visa for five years so embassy knows we have a history together. However, it would be a disaster if for some obscure reason they did not issue a marriage visa - I would be married to someone I could not live with! Therefore, I was thinking that I could get her a fiancee visa, THEN get married in Thailand and then apply for the marriage visa in the UK. I realsie I will have to pay twice for the visas but I am not worried about that. Does that make any sense and is it doable?
vinny
As she is not getting married in the UK, there is no need for her to apply for a Fiancé(e) visa. After marrying in Thailand, she may apply for a spouse visa to the UK. Edited March 27, 2008 by vinny
the scouser
Also, if she were to attempt to enter the UK on a fiancée visa having already married in Thailand, the purpose of the visa would have been removed, so she could face being refused entry and removed back to Thailand which would put her back to square one. Scouse.
