I have an O-A Non-immigrant long stay visa which states the visa is good from the date I obtained it - November 14,2007 - November 13,2008. Stamped M for a multi-entry visa, as well. The passport was stamped January 24,2008 when I arrived and says admitted until January 23,2009.

I am leaving MOnday, March 31st for Europe for two months. Do I need to purchase a re-entry visa BEFORE I leave or is my current visa good for this trip?

You do not need or want a re-entry permit - as long as you will return with that visa being valid you will receive a new one year permitted to stay stamp on arrival. Only if you will return after the visa validity do you need a re-entry permit (during second year).
