Markets In Phuket

Does anyone know of a database with Markets in Phuket and what weekdays they are open on? I could not find a list anywhere so I thought it would be useful to have a thread for the markets.

This should be a collection of Thai style markets, those that are usually selling fresh produce, Thai groceries, prepared foods, some clothing, DVDs, a bit of homeware. I do not want to list Tourist / Souvenir stand markets.

Please post and I will add the ones you posted to the list.

Mondays

Kata is Monday and Thursdays on Patak road south of the petrol station, however there is a permanent one every day just opposite selling fresh produce and fruit. Also there is a pet store and great 2nd hand store with larger sizes , warmer weather clothing and both mens, womens and kids. Everything is 99 baht and seems to be imported from somewhere as there are US and UK brands.

Bang Tao Market - Opposite 7-11 and the smaller of the 2 Mosques. Early afternoon untill after dark (12:00-19:00)

Tuesdays

Rawai Market 1 - when coming from Chalong circle this one is on the right hand side after the right turn to Sai Yuan / Nai Harn

Chalong Market 1 - when coming from Chalong circle this one is on Chaofa West Road not far after Chalong Circle - a lof of ready prepared Thai food here

Samkong market is just behind the teaching university. Operates Tues, Thurs and Sat from early afternoon and ends maybe around 8pm

Wednesdays

Thursdays

Market in Manik ( Thalang District ) every Thursday & Saturday. Starts about 12 noon ends about 7pm.

Sundays

sunday morning 5 am till about 10.30, just along from chalong circle on the road to rawai

Every Day

Khatu market - Open 7 days per week. Starts at about mid-day, but better going after four. Starts to close up and get quiet 8pm onward. Turn left at the crossroads if your coming from Patong, following signs to the waterfall. 20 yards up the road on the left. Great selection of cooked food all along the road and fresh produce further in. Would be interested in replies from the northern half of the island.

Rawia is open every nite, innit?

I often go there for a feed in the evening, neva found it not, up and steaming.

Good tukka despite wall to wall blowflies.

(Must remember to ruduce pix sizes B4 uploading.)

I live in Rawai. There is a market everyday except Saturday here.

On Tuesday's and Fridays, it's right across from Friendship beach.

On the other days, it's down closer to the Evason resort (opposite side of the road) 2 different places down there but they are close to each other.

Nai Yang markets close to temple

Tues & Sat a'noons 'til sunset

Thurs evening 4:00 ish til 8:00 ish depending on how busy.

Over the last 4 or 5 years this market has doubled in size - mainly for locals, but lots of clothes stalls and (Thurs evening) and poduce galore.

Always very sticky underfoot when raining..... :o
