Ed Visa

HAS ANY HERE EVER APPLIED TO WALEN THAI SCHOOL FROM OUTSIDE THAILAND? I'M IN CANADA AND I WANT TO APPLY TO THIS SCHOOL BUT MY CONCERN IS THE MONEY. DID U HAVE TO PAY ALL THE MONEY OR JUST A PART OF IT TO GET THE NEEDED DOCUMENTS FOR THE CONSULATE? HOW RELIABLE ARE THEY? THANKS VERY MUCH FOR YOUR RESPONSE.

Never dealt with Walen, bur as far as I know ALL the schools will need the tuition money upfront.

I even think it is a requirement of the Education Ministry that the tuition is paid upfront.

It is not documentation from the school itself you need at the consulate, but documentation from the Education ministry, which the school will apply for on your behalf.

Additionally, most schools demand that you apply and fill out paperwork in person!

Hi Peter, not many responses. Perhaps not everybody has seen your question. We have quite a lot of students applying from outside of Thailand and none had any problems. Don't worry, we will do what we say we will so you are safe in this regard. You will not lose your money and we promise good service.

The fee needs to be paid in full but if you were not able to obtain the ED visa we will refund 100% of the fee. So far we never has such a case as we process all documents through the ministry of Education.

Mac,

Looking at your website's home page it states one can take 4 classes in 1 day but the published schedule doesn't reflect that. It only show 3 sessions on one day (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Am I missing something?

Also, if you do go 4 sessions in one day, it appears to be for 45 weeks. What happens if you have transportation problems, sickness or family emergencies that preclude you from making it to an occasional session....do you lose your student status and thus your ED visa?

Thank you,

Martian

On the ED VISA can I leave Thailand and come back?? I like to Visit friends in Singapore and Malaysia when they're traveling in that part of the world??

not my personal experience but I am guessing its just school policy. I got my paperwork with a 20% deposit and did the application and interview stuff over the internet. Sorry because its working so well for me I don't want to blab the name of school but anyway I don't think its MOE policy.

Yes, if it is a multiple-entry visa.

If it is a single-entry visa or an extesnion of stay, you need a re-entry permit – obtainable at the immigration office – before you leave Thailand.

If you have an overall good attendance you will not lose your visa status. Also the mistake on the website is now fixed.

Hi Mac

Actually I cannot understand your (even fixed) schedules

Under 2 Lessons for 2 days you have from 17.00 to 20.50 for Monday and Friday

But under 4 lessons for 1 day you have the same times for Friday alone

The same applies for Saturdays and Sundays

Under 2 Hours per day for 2 days the same hours are quoted to Cover

4 Lessons on one day

How long is a "Lesson" ?

Bill
