April 13, 200817 yr Hi, They just installed a telephone line in the bantong village (Kathu), the house i rent. I would like to get the faster connexion as possible. What is the best solution? TT&T, TRUE, TOT etc... Where i can find an office to subscribe in Kathu? Thanks a lot
April 13, 200817 yr I think that district can get TT&T.. If so the maxnet premier is the fastest line I have seen short of the dedicated CAT lines.. My 1 MB like is giving me a real 999kbps international speed all day every day.. Now I know that it really is pay for a service and get what is claimed I will probably upgrade to the 1.5 or 3mbit lines on the same 5:1 contention.
April 13, 200817 yr I am in Kathu, about a kilometer from Loch Palm. We have TT&T Maxnet 1500 kbps connection and it is very reliable and usually gives a speed of 1200-1300. Never drops below 1000 and vary rarely cuts out (maybe 4 times in the last year for an hour or so each time).
April 13, 200817 yr When I lived in Muang district my TT&T Maxnet connection was excellent. In Talang the TOT service was worse then useless. In BKK the True line was even worse than "worse than useless". However, as ever in Thailand, luck is always a factor.
April 15, 200817 yr Author Thanks to everyone. It seems that TT&T is the best solution for high speed. What about TRUE, nobody tried?
April 15, 200817 yr Thanks to everyone. It seems that TT&T is the best solution for high speed. What about TRUE, nobody tried? Oh I tried TRUE. My advice when using a TRUE line would be to abandon all hope. :-)
April 19, 200817 yr Hi everybody, me too i'm interested to get an high speed conexion in kathu, i live just behind go kart and caltex. I heard about TOT. Is it fast? It works or not? Can i subscribe for less than one year? What about TT&T can i subscribe for a few month? Thanks
April 19, 200817 yr Behind Caltex get Maxnet premier... Best net connection I have ever had in Thailand and I have tried most of them.
April 19, 200817 yr My current speed here in Kathu: Last Result: Download Speed: 857 kbps (107.1 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 413 kbps (51.6 KB/sec transfer rate) for a 500Baht/month TOT Gerd
April 19, 200817 yr Where was the test to tho Gerd.. If thats LA or london then good speeds.. If thats BKK its rough.. And thats the 'premier's cheapest line !!
April 21, 200817 yr Hi ! Do u think that with TOT it's interesting to subscribe a contract with a speed up to 1 Mbps? I mean if i take the 1.5 Mbps, it's gonna be faster or it depends of the quality of the network which can be limited? (Live in kathu banthong) Thanks
April 21, 200817 yr TOT using the goldcyber / silvercyber etc does show some peak speed differences in the line, but those *cyber packages are sold as 50:1 contention for international bandwidth so they have fast periods (middle of the night early am hours) and slow down to a crawl when everyones online. If that peak speed during low useage is useful then its worth it, only costs a couple hundred baht more.
April 27, 200817 yr Author Hello, Nice to read all your informations.... About TT&T is maxnet premier is faster than the maxnet indy? What is the difference between these 2 offers? Indy : 1024/512 = 590 Premier : 1024/512 = 1090 Do you advice me premier? Source : http://www.maxnet.co.th/promotion_inside.php?promtid=58 Thanks to everybody again
April 28, 200817 yr As per my PM.. Indy has very high contention.. Slow slow slow.. Premier is the low contention packet and its the best ADSL I have had, I think its probably the best cheap package short of the CAT one thats hard to get and 2.5x as expensive.
