Pattaya International Hospital Soi 4

OK for minor ailments, also for dental work.

For serious stuff I would go to either of the two hospitals in Sriracha.

I have tried it, and I still stand by Phyathai in Sriracha. The prices are about the same as Sirikit in Satahip, but the service is much quicker, and the doctors are very good. Some trained in the states.

What's your problem? Prices for medical treatment in Thailand are not always fair and not always cheap. A lot of places prey on foreigners with health insurance.

It's a pretty reasonable question to ask about where medical treatment is charged fairly. It has nothing at all to do with cheap.

Could you please give some directions on how to get there as I'm not familiar with Sri Racha.

I don't need a hospital today, but I'd like to know just in case.

How far is it from Pattaya Central? Is it possible to get there on a scooter, or if not, how much would it cost to get there using other transport and how long would it take?

It's well sign posted in Englsih and very easy to find.

Take route 3 (Sukhumvit) from Pattaya to Sri Racha. When you reach Sri Racha you will go through a number of traffic lights, and in the centre of the town you will see a large Robinson's Dept store on your left. You take the left turning on the far side of the store (towards the harbour) , and you can't miss the large Hospital building on the right hand side, just past Robinsons. There are English signs to Phyathai hospital on the main road.

From memory Sri Racha is just over 20kms from North Pattaya so say 25 from Central and I would conclude to be doable as long as long as your scooter is motorised!

Thanks. That's really what I needed to know. It's too far to go if I'm really needing urgent medical attention or feeling real sick.

How much would a baht bus or taxi charge to go that far?

I had severe food poisoning about a year ago and PIH seemed too far.

Do any of the baht buses on Sukhumvit go as far north as Sri Racha? If not, is there a transfer point somewhere in Banglamung or elsewhere to connect with a Sri Racha-bound baht bus?

There are mini buses that run from Naklua market to Robinsons in Sri Racha (close to the hospital). You can also catch a bus on Sukhumwit to Sri Racha. Other than that, it would be a charter car. I think someone needs to start a business for local farangs that just want to do hospital runs so we can avoid the two ripoff outfits in town.

this may be of little use to you but a lot of my friends talk enthusiastically about a doctor in private practise called Dr. Bellam.

i do not know where he is, except he is in central pattaya and my mates are sensibly all away avoiding Songkran so i can't ask them exactly where.

maybe other Tv'ers can expand on it.

by the way my pals speak about him he is almost a legend, so he shouldn't be too hard to find

i hope that helps

Have a look at this topic where doctors were recently discussed. Apparently Dr. Olivier is not gone.

It's on page 4 of the forum. Last post dated 3 April 08

STD's can develop complications and should not be treated as minor ailments, I would recommend the Pattaya International Hospital.

Don't be embarrassed as they see these things everyday :o

Good to see you back Jeffrey - you been seeing dirty women again?

Women get "dirty" because men make them that way.
