News On The Internet

Featured Replies

in the electronic times we live in there is no longer the need to mosy on down to the news agent to pick up your favorite rag...every thing can be had at the click of the mouse. I am an American but I favor the BBC, Guardian, Observer as in my view they offer a more balanced view than the US press. What do you guys read? Any yahoo right wing commandos that are secret French speakers that tune into La Liberacion each day? What about the caring progressive types that cannot pass up free tits on The Sun? What do you read and why? Those that prefer the BKK Times and The Nation are encouraged to come forward...we are all friends here...

I'm a BBC man, I get my local regular email updates from Phuket Gazette and ThaiVisa, I also have this great site for sending me sectorized news in SE Asia [email protected] I believe you can still sign up for a daily mailshot.

In the middle of Russia I'm a little short of English language newspapers so read my news online, I often listen to BBC Radio4 online as well.

My daily read consists of:

The Guardian - a good balance, owned by a trust not a media Mogul

The Independant - another balanced UK broadsheet

BBC News - accused by both the right and left of being biased so they must be getting it right!

BBC Radio4 - Today, World at One and PM also the Archers

International Herald Tribune - the best of the American press

CNN - you have to look in on them

Aljazeera - not impartial but no worse than Fox News

The Moscow Times - what's happening in my neck of the woods

I'll also take a look at The Nation online now and again.

Fond memories of the "Londoner Bar"and Sheik Isas beach on Bahrain.....nice places until they built the causeway.

Then the heavy drinkers arrived :D:o

Quality thread. Big thanks to everybody for the links so far (from all balances) :o

My daily reads are BBC News, Google News (and then an edited Thai version), The Nation (website improved dramaticly recently), and, of course, the ThaiVisa News forum.

I check Stickman a few times a week, and was a big fan of Mango Saunce until David decided to take a break...
