Has anyone been to a 'pedicurist' in Chiangmai.

Where are they ? Are they any good ?

I once read in the Trink page that there was not a single podiatrist in Thailand 'amazing'

But on the subject of available pedicurists in the city any info would be greatly appreciated :o

Six years ago my back went out on me, put me in a full back brace, and I couldn't bend over to cut my own toe nails. My wife offered to cut them for me, but we happened to be walking through Kad Suen Kaew and I noticed a salon on the second floor doing all the usual hair stuff, facials, foot massages, and manicure/pedicure.... Hmmmmm.....

"Sweetheart, let me treat you to a nice facial while this young lady cuts my toenails and gives me a foot massage!" :o

I got my back fixed up but have been going back ever since . They even serve me tea! I don't always have time for the massage, but just letting them cut the nails for me is a luxury I deserve, and even corrected a nail that was beginning to turn inward!

Second floor of Kad Suen Kaew, just outside the rear door across from the car parts/tool and lighting department of Central. They spend about 30-45 minutes doing it, and it's 150 baht well spent.

No one seems to be coming up with any cheap, Thai places, so I recommend the small hairstylist in between Thapae Gate Books and Travel Shoppe near Starbucks. It is only 70 baht for a pedicure and something like another 70 if you want a manicure which is half the price of most places.

Is it cheaper if you have less toes? :o

Thanks again.

I will go check it out very soon.

Do you have a name for the place as I am sure that there will be a few salons there.

Alternatively is in the area with the escalators on either side of the atrium or around the corner in the back wing.

Thanks in advance. :D

Midway between the two areas. If you walk out of the department store's 2nd floor rear exit (this is the car parts/car care section,) you will be directly in front of the left side (hair chairs) of this salon. Three steps to the right is the entrance to the 'body care' area. Usually there are a few women sitting outside offering foot massages.

If you come up the main escalators in the large atrium, get off on the second floor, walk to the rear left as if you were heading for the large sporting goods store. If memory serves me, there is an Optical store facing the men's shoe department entrance to Central, then down the left corridor and opposite, what used to be a cloth store (recently closed) and then the salon roughly 20-30 steps on the right side down the corridor from the main atrium.

WARNING! Be sure that you are coming out of the 2nd floor Central exit (Car care department.) There is another salon just above on the third floor outside it's rear exit and they do NOT do as good a job! I made that mistake once....

Sorry, but I don't have a name. Never bothered to look. :D

I think with these instructions a blind man should be able to find it and that's me (well almost) :D

Well I went yesterday "Monique" is the name of the place. I will go back for regular attention. The GF was doing them but now that she is the "ex" GF I will go for being pampered.

The directions you gave took me right to the door. Thank you.
