Xbox 360 Modify

Anyone can point me to a shop or technician that modify xbox 360 while you wait for it?I know the procedure,but prefer not to do it myself,and know it takes less then an hour for an experienced technician.That's why I don't trust it when thay say they will need the console for a few days.

Anyone some recommendations??

Sepan Lek, Bangkok, (not sure about the spelling though sorry) its out China town way, a whole market dedicated to consoles etc. Its the only place I could get my system chipped, and I tried everywhere.

That's Klong Thom Market, on the backsite of the Parking & Shop House, on Worachak Rd.

Do you have a name from a shop maybe and did they do the job right away or did you have to leave the console behind?

I've never liked Saphan Lek - nightmare traffic around there and the place is too hot and sweaty

I had my 360 modded at Pantip instead:

Game Mania

Bangkok

Pantip Plaza

2. Fl. Room 5, 15 and 3. fl. Room 333

Tel.: 0 2656 6093

Only problem is they didn't do it there and then - I left them my number and they called me back a day or so later

Cost was a few thousand if I recall (this was about a year ago)

Get ready for an xbox live ban once you've had the mod done however!

But to be honest I've not missed live because I can play online on PS3 and the lag seems much less, probably as there are more SE Asia players to play with/against

Thaks Ian,will give them a call in the next days.I don't worry about xbox live,never played online but with internet speeds we got here I guess it is also quite impossible to do a decent game.

As long as you stick to playing games within the region (Japan & Singapore for example) then you can have a great lag-free experience

This is why I like my PS3 as there are much more SE Asia PS3 owners than Xbox 360 owners online so you can easily find a local game

It's only when you start playing people from the US & Europe do you experience lag.

Reimar has answered that for me, my console was an Xbox not the 360, everywhere I tried just said leave with us 2/3 days but could not explain why, after talking to my sister inlaw about it she took me to Klong Thom Market, where I was told please leave with us 2/3 days (because you have a European version, which we don't stock chips for, we need to order in, he was right, I brought it in from England), I left it with him, a few days later he called to say it was ready, works great. He also had a very good stock of pre chipped 360's with added internal fan mods, ended up taking one of them with me also

You know there are alternatives for online play with modified xbox's (not 360's), google tunneling applications such as Kai or Xbconnect. Both work great although the community over at Kai tends to be more mature. As for lag it all depends on the game and its netcode: Rainbow Six 3 for example is playable on US servers.

Just called game mania and they told the price would be 4000 baht not including the service charge whatever that may be.At that price I guess it's cheaper to buy a 2nd hand modified box.

Anyone else got a good address?

Get a "local version" and you will miss out on the multi-player options and the downloadable content coming soon. $60 seems like a reasonable price to pay for 50-100 hours of entertainment. Of course you would need an unchipped Xbox too.... Play-Asia has the game available for pre-order, I hope I will have mine next week.

Really like GTA 4 so far - Never been a big fan of the previous versions as I kept getting lost all the time! GTA 4 has GPS and really good waypoint system so I've not gotten lost once

Best thing I like is the story - Really good characters and lots of amusing one-liners and I'm only about 2 hrs into the game

Will be buying the PS3 version next week so I can have a go at the multiplayer

Love it when you get drunk and try to walk to your car, then when finally you get to the car it's nigh impossible to drive straight!

Also if you take a taxi whilst drunk some taxi drivers will not pick you up as you drunkenly call them to stop, and if one does then whilst you are in the back seat things get all woozy. This is exactly how I am on the way back home from Soi 4 every Friday night!

So many great little touches like this means it's my favourite game so far this year.

Only part I don't like is the hand-hand fighting as I am crap at that (never liked fighting games)

I take Jacob out once a week to go for a drink..

Jacob drunk + accent = funny ~ !
